Restorative Dentistry

Our bodies often start repairing after injuries, well every part except our teeth. Damaged and decayed teeth cannot heal themselves. Without restoring them your tooth will continue to breakdown leading to more costly dental procedures. The sooner you have your tooth fixed with a dental filling, crown, onlay, or inlay, the sooner you will have peace of mind. Sloan & Sloan offers all of these solutions for restorative dentistry in Broadway, Harnett County, Sanford, and surrounding areas, so don’t wait to get your smile restored!

Tooth Colored Fillings

Unlike traditional silver amalgam dental fillings, tooth-colored fillings do not require metal materials to restore teeth. Obviously this is better when it comes to aesthetic purposes, it’s also ideal for patients who worry or have sensitive teeth, which is common with silver amalgam fillings. This is because tooth-colored fillings use composite resin, without sacrificing durability in the process. After getting rid of the decay and we mold the resin inside of your tooth, and cure it instantly, leaving you with a fully restored smile.

Dental Crowns

If your cavity is severe or your current fillings take up more than two-thirds of your overall tooth, a dental crown is the best option. Crowns are designed to prevent further damage to your natural tooth, seal your damaged tooth , and make your complete your smile. Crowns also prevent neighboring teeth from shifting into the open space created as a result of your damaged tooth. Most of the time if you need a root canal, or have already had a root canal a crown will be required to preserve the remains tooth and to ensure that bacteria does not reinfect.

Inlays & Onlays

Inlays and onlays are considered to be closer to dental crowns than fillings. However, they are not quite as extensive or expensive. Inlays are designed to restore deeper portions of teeth inside the actual crown, while onlays work to replace a wide portion that covers more surface area without covering the entire crown itself. These restorations are made from durable, materials to ensure natural esthetics and long-term functionality. Dr. Don Sloan will help you determine the best option for your treatment.
